Purpose Your Wealth

“It should be our hope that the care and thoughtfulness we bring to our decision making today will be remembered and honored by our descendants seven generations from today.”
– Iroquois elders greeting to one another as they began important tribal work.

“Above all, we have realized how courageous we have to be to embark on a family journey that will extend beyond our own lifetimes and thus be a journey whose outcome we will never know. To begin a voyage knowing we will not see its end is a leap of faith of extraordinary proportions. Yet not to try is to accept the verdict of the [shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in three generations] proverb and consign our families to fulfilling its hopeless prophecy.”
– James E. Hughes Jr. “Family Wealth – Keeping It in the Family”

“A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they shall never sit.”
– Greek proverb

Our Approach

We start conversations with business owners — those in complex situations, with distinct personalities and experiences, and a unique approach to how they view and move through the world.

We identify the forms of wealth that exist within the family, and address the financial concerns of each family to help them create a long term strategy to purpose and perpetuate their wealth.

Who We Work With

Many of the people we work with are the originators of their wealth, often through blood, sweat, tears, risk and capital. They know the pain as well as the benefits of that journey.

They want to afford their family opportunity they did not have, but not through entitlement; rather they want to empower them to learn through their own failure and success.

They want all they have created, as well as inherited, to live on past them, but they currently don’t know the best way to do this.

They have a collection of advisors and advice that are not necessarily coordinated and are looking for someone to help them integrate, manage and maximize these resources.

They don’t fully understand the power of separating their identity from their business and shifting their focus to the potential within their wealth.
